Word 2007 Startup Options – Blogging Made Easy
Since I discovered blogging from Word 2007 (earlier post here), I have been using only Word to do my blogging. However, there was one irritant: I would have to launch word and then go to New and click on “New Blog Post” before I could start typing. A little bit of googling told me that I can have startup options for Word, and one of these options is to specify which template to load. Now I have a shortcut on my desktop for this as well as a SlickRun magic word which allows me to quickly get into the process creating a post. My exact settings (and this took a couple of trials) are
- Target: “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\WINWORD.EXE” /q /tblog.dotx
- Startup Directory: “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033″
The /q switch suppresses the Splash Screen.
