Windows Live Writer Spell Check
I really feel a little dumb today. My biggest complaint against LiveWriter has been that it doesn’t have a spell check feature. Finally Google tells me that it does
have a spell check, but then why can’t I see it.
So I search again. I find this post from months ago which says the problem is that the Spell Checker is only available to en-US regional settings. Incidentally, those are the settings that I have on my computer anyway. Still, I download the little program that post suggests and try again. Guess what, it still doesn’t work. So how do I get Spell Check for Liver Writer?
This is where I feel really dumb! It turns out that I have to first choose a dictionary from the Options dialogue box before the spell checker gets activated (makes sense). So, this is what I do:
And viola! I have it. I realize that most of the problem that people faced with the culture settings was in beta as well.
Well, now this post is spell-checked. A good thing too as I had been making far too many mistakes lately. Now if only we got that grammar check and also a word count going, then this tool would be perfect.
