Why do I use Technorati
I keep talking about Technorati on my blog. So what is Technorati? Why do I use it? Here goes:
- Technorati is THE authority for what’s happening on the dynamic internet. This is the part of the internet which is frequently updated as compared to static sites which do not update on a regular basis. A majority of these sites include blogs and now more and more social networking and media sites are joining this category.
- Technorati tracks all such sites and tracks updates, links between sites, and comes up with a who’s who of this part of the internet. Currently it tracks over 100 million blogs.
Well, so what? That doesn’t answer why I use it. Well, I use it because it allows me to track all incoming links into my blog (at least from those sites which Technorati tracks). Well Google can show me that, you might say. However, Google doesn’t tell me a lot about the people linking in to me, which Technorati does. And if you are a professional blogger, the Technorati rank becomes very important for you as it is a measure of recognition on the blogging circuit.
So, if you don’t have your blog added to Technorati yet, go ahead and do it; what are you waiting for?
