Top 10 irritating expressions – which ones do you use?

The Oxford University has compiled the list of the 10 most irritating expressions used in the English language. I list them below, and the ones in bold are those that I have also used a number of times (needless to say, they will be dropping from my daily speech consciously or unconsciously from now on).

  1. At the end of the day
  2. Fairly unique
  3. I personally
  4. At this moment in time
  5. With all due respect
  6. Absolutely
  7. It’s a nightmare
  8. Shouldn’t of
  9. 24/7
  10. It’s not rocket science

Having gone though the list, I can imagine how these can become irritating. If you hear something repeated often, it irritates you. There are many that I have heard a number of times around the office.

Which ones have you heard a lot of? Which ones are you guilty of using? Here’s the link to the original article.
