Simplest way to add a Watermark to your image

image Some time ago, I wanted to add a simple watermark to an image I was going to post on this blog. And I went through hoops trying to get that done. I read a number of tutorials on how to do this using Photoshop and so on. I finally did end up putting a watermark on it using Photoshop (post here).

Anyway, today I discovered (to my utter disbelief) that putting a watermark on an image is as easy as ABC (if you are using LiveWriter to make posts to your blog). Here is how:

Insert the image into your blog post like you normally do. Now select the image by clicking on it. This should cause the properties pane to open to the right. In this pane there is a tab called “Effects”. Click on this tab. This tab contains two buttons (a plus and a minus). The plus button drops down to show a menu when you click on it (see image below). Select Overlays->Watermark.

The rest is self-explanatory. You type in the text, choose the size, font, and position of the watermark, and then you are done. Below is the same image watermarked:
