Sex is more important than food
Google Trends is such an interesting tool and a colleague reminded me of how much time you can waste on it trying out wonderful combinations of words to see surprising trends about what people search on the Internet. And this is a service which is in active development with new features being added regularly.
I decided to analyze two words: food and sex. Aside from figuring out the habits of the various nations, I also discovered which days of the week are people most sexually active.
Here are some of the findings:
The Whole World

Notice that people search for sex more than they search for food: 4.5 times more to be exact.
India

In India, people search for sex way more than the world average: 11 times more.
Egypt

In Egypt they are crazy about sex: they search for it 41 times more than they search for food.
United States

The US, on the other hand, for some reason thinks that sex is only TWICE as important as food.
If I change the criteria just a little and look at only searches made for sex over the last 30 days, something very interesting is revealed. People search for sex most on a Saturday.

All those peaks are Saturdays. This shouldn’t be surprising because they are busy during the week working to ensure that they get enough food to live by and so they don’t have to search for it as much.
disclaimer: interpretation of the trends above is purely subjective

Duh. ’sex’ is a word used in most languages; the word for ‘food’ is different in all languages.

@Bob… well yes, and there are other reasons why this is not a scientific comparison…
I made this in a spirit of fun
