NYTimes - Double Click a word to get its meaning
Here is something interesting that I didn’t know till I discovered it by accident. I was reading an article on the New York Times website and I double clicked a word (I sometimes do that to highlight words while reading). The moment I did that, a new window opened with the definition of this highlighted word. Try it yourself by going here.
Neat, I thought at first. But it quickly became irritating as every time I would highlight a word by double-clicking, it would open this new window. Nevertheless, I still think it’s a nice feature simply because it allows you to do something extra by simple mouse interaction on the website.

Nice feature but it would be great if they make it AJAX based. I don’t like the idea of opening new page on every request.

@Ramesh yup… yes, that was the part where it got irritating for me… maybe a small tooltip type div would do….
