Microsoft Surface – The Future is Here
I love it when all these new technologies are unleashed upon us. Apple with the iPhone definitely wowed me. But Microsoft Surface is really light years ahead. I have been following it up and it’s much more than a glorified touch screen as I heard someone say.
The possibilities that it offers are amazing. I can imagine it acting as a piano, a canvas, a photo album, a television with touch controls, collaboration hub, shopping kiosk, map guide, gaming machine, learning tool, and much more.
Imagine an office scenario which allows you to simply place your laptop on the surface and start transferring data to another laptop which is also placed on the surface. Or, you put your PDA on the surface and it starts loading a presentation that you are carrying on to its display. Imagine anyone being able to scribble notes or comments down on the surface as the presentation is being given and all of that getting saved back to your PDA/Laptop.
Imagine another scenario where you are trying to figure out how to arrange the furniture in your room with your wife. You fire up the surface load a modeling software and draw out your room, and then you both start moving around the furniture to see how the room would look like; all this by simply picking up the furniture and placing it using your hands.
I can imagine how a surface can become the standard equipment in a living room. Am really excited to see where it goes.
