It’s raining traffic around here
Take a look at my Google Analytics visitor graph for this blog. That is yesterday. I posted this reply to a post on the Gmail blog and that resulted in this traffic spike.
I usually get around 100 visitors a day mostly through Google search, but this was too much. Almost 3000 visitors in one day. Wow. Too bad not too many of them hanged around to see the rest of my blog.
How did I get this traffic? Well, it just so happened that my post got listed below the Google post on their blog (because I had linked to their post from within my post). Most of that traffic came from the Gmail blog. Well, I don’t mind that, it’s nice to get so many visitors. Too bad my site is not optimized for AdSense, or I could have made a bit more than my usual 2 or 3 cents a week :).

So, for the next few days, you can rest assured that the traffic will be maintained at those levels. Till it falls back to the original levels. You really lost an opportunity with AdSense. Better luck next time!

No no… the next day, it did go down to about a third. This wasn’t digg, just another blog.
