Hiding icons on your desktop in Windows XP
Sometimes things are so simple and yet you take forever to get them done. This post is probably more for helping me remember next time then to teach anyone for I am sure that everyone probably knows this already.
I wanted to hide all the icons on my desktop and set about finding where I can do that from. I looked at the various properties and settings dialogs but couldn’t find it. Now I KNEW that there is a way to do it and it is a fairly standard way.
Well the way is to right click the desktop, go to Arrange Icons and Uncheck “Show Desktop Icons”. Nice and simple (and of course to bring them back, do the same thing again):
