Google Alerts – Good Things Come in Small Packages

I bet most people in the world know about this nice little service from Google, but for the minority who don’t (and somehow stumble to my blog), here is the skinny.

Go to http://www.google.com/alerts and login with your Google account credentials. Now let’s say you want to be notified whenever there is something new on the web (or at least the part that Google monitors); let’s say this something is SyncMyCal. You can create an alert as shown:

You can type in “SyncMyCal” in the Search terms, choose a Type and frequency, and click on ‘Create Alert’. And boom; now every time Google detects new content with the term SyncMyCal in it, it will send you an email with a link to the new content.

Pretty Cool, huh?!
