Google adds scrolling to its ad units
I recently noticed that the AdSense ad units that display on my blog had funny arrows in them. Earlier I thought that they were some bad Html code creeping in somehow (angled brackets) but these were appearing consistently I dared to click on one, and the moment I did, the ads displaying in the unit refreshed to show a different set of ads.
Now, why would I want the visitors to scroll through my advertisements? I guess I would so that they would click on an ad. I guess the question is why would a visitor scroll through the ads on the site unless they really really wanted to look for some ads on a particular site. Anyway, here are some screen shots of these ad units with the arrows:

As a standard disclaimer, please do not click on the ads on my site unless you are interested in the products advertised. Clicking on the arrows however is ok, because it doesn’t take you to any advertiser’s website. It only changes the advertisements displayed.

I noticed these yesterday and the day before and was really irritated until I realized each time someone scrolls it counts as a new impression.
