Caught in the rain
With all the rain coming down these days, I got a chance to snap some pics of a bird (an eagle of some sort, I think). Last time I was at home and it was raining, I was able to snap some peacocks.
This guy was sitting on the street lamp in the lane just outside our house. Every time I take a picture like this, I feel that I need to get a much bigger lens. Here are some more:
In this last one, it decided to move to different lamp.

Nice. Also liked the pictures of the ducks and the stork. So did you finally get around to using the stork logo?

Oriental Honey Buzzard, it can be if its not eagle due to size. Another Wild guess…

I didn’t said it’s owl. It is “Eagle Owl”, a special Eagle which is Owl and vice versa

How close is this.
The only other bird which has similar but more clear colors is the Red Kite, but it has yellow bill.

hi Anshul, you sure are persistent. Yes, this one is pretty close, but not sure if it is the same thing.
But yes, this is the best match yet.

The scientific name of Common Buzzard is Buteo buteo, and another bird of prey with similar look and feel is Buteo Jamaicensis i.e. the Red tailed hawk.
The one in the pic looks like the juvenile version of the red tailed hawk.
I think, this one is the closest I could get considering we started with an eagle.
