Birds, Bridges and Architecture
I have had a hectic past few weeks, but I did get a chance to get my camera out during that time. I was traveling in Denmark and went over a really large bridge; I visited my favorite bird sanctuary near home once again. I passed some time in a zoo in Germany, and a couple from a road trip in Norway. Like I said, its been a hectic past few weeks, but I did get some photographs clicked.

Here we go, let’s start with Denmark. The photos below are of The Great Belt Bridge – the third longest suspension bridge in the world as of today. It connects two islands in Denmark and replaces the ferries that used to carry cars across before it came into existence. The bridge is over one and half kilometers long:
They are now planning to make a bridge directly from Denmark to Germany. I now crossover to Germany, where I went for a walk in a zoo in a town called Karlsruhe. Here’s one of the pictures I clicked there:
This duck was swimming very nonchalantly in the pond and let me get really close. I wish that the birds that I saw in Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary would let me get that close. Here are some pictures I took last month when I visited there. These storks were all over the place.
And here’s the big dragon fly that I was able to capture on camera. I like this shot a lot. I took like 20 or 30 shots, and this is the one I like best.
And just to wrap it up, there are these pictures from Norway that I took while my colleague was driving us towards Oslo from Sandefjord. This is one of the many small towns that came on the way (I don’t even know its name).
Well, that’s all. There were many more pictures of course. If you click on these images, it will take you to my Picasa Web account, where you can view the rest of the albums and pictures. Here’s a direct link to my Public Gallery on Picasa Web: Vaibhav’s Gallery.
