Actually you are right. If you see, I don't digg every post that I write, only those that I think might be worth reading for a wider audience.

This tip is for very new bloggers. This keeps the morale up as there is some traffic (however fleeting). You could use a dummy account to digg them.

Disclaimer: Of course, this tip is against the very spirit of Digg.

But yes, I agree with Matt's comment about the long term negative effects of this tip.</description>

Getting 5 visits may be nice... but getting to the front page brings 10s of thousands and will never be achieved by digging every post.  That just makes your digg account look like a spammer account and so your posts will only get a few diggs at the most.</description>
